Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated · May 2026
Ember is built for thoughtful, lawful business outreach. This policy describes what you may and may not do with the service. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account.
You must
- Only contact recipients you have a legitimate reason to reach.
- Include a clear, working opt-out in every email.
- Honour unsubscribe requests promptly — Ember adds opt-outs to your do-not-contact list automatically.
- Use accurate sender information; never impersonate another person or business.
- Keep daily sending volumes within healthy, deliverable limits.
- Comply with applicable laws including GDPR, UK GDPR, PECR, CAN-SPAM, CASL, and any local equivalents.
You must not
- Send unsolicited bulk email to consumer addresses, scraped lists, or harvested data.
- Send content that is illegal, harassing, deceptive, defamatory, or harmful.
- Promote pyramid schemes, illegal products, adult content, gambling, or regulated financial products without proper authorisation.
- Bypass safety rails such as daily limits, the compliance checkbox, or the do-not-contact list.
- Attempt to disrupt the service, reverse engineer it, or access another customer's data.
Safeguards we enforce
- Manual approval is required before any campaign sends.
- Daily sending limits apply to every connected inbox.
- A campaign-wide pause button stops further sends instantly.
- Bounces, complaints, and opt-outs are added to your do-not-contact list.
